YFLO ZOYA Young Women Achievers Awards 2010-2011


New Delhi, April 15th 2011: Young FICCI Ladies Organization (YFLO), in association with Zoya, organized the Young Women Achievers Awards 2010-2011 today at The Lalit Hotel, New Delhi. Every year YFLO organizes to felicitate OUTSTANDING WOMEN ACHIEVERS who have excelled in their respective fields and made a significant contribution to society. The primary objective of these awards is to promote entrepreneurship and professional excellence. 10 women under the age of 45 are chosen from diverse fields and are felicitated through these awards.

Ms. Kumari Selja, Hon’ble Union Minister for Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation and Culture was the Chief Guest. As she gave away the awards she said, “Every women should play a key role in contributing to the society and the nation”. Mrs. Renu Sud Karnad, Managing Director, HDFC Ltd was the Guest of Honor at the occasion.

The awardees for this year were Ms. Rani Mukherjee (Acting), Ms. Agatha Sangma (Politics), Ms. Sonal Agrawal (Business), Ms. Namrata Joshipura (Fashion), Ms. Arushi Mudgal (Performing Arts), Ms. Surinder Kaur (Sports), Ms. Anjali Bhardwaj (Community Service), Ms. Manvi Dhillon (Media), Ms. Reena Saini Kallat (Visual Arts) and Ms. Namita Devidayal (Literature).

After receiving the award, Rani Mukherjee thanked YFLO and dedicated it to the media persons as she portrayed her character “Meera”, an investigative TV Journalist in her latest release ‘No One Killed Jessica’.

Ms. Vasvi Bharat Ram, Chairperson, YFLO said, “The YFLO ZOYA Young Women Achievers Awards 2011-2011 celebrates the success of women achievers and honors them being icons of the inspiration and shining example of commitment, hard work, excellence and achievement. The awards are being given to women from every sphere”.

Ms. Divya Suri Singh, Vice Chairperson YFLO, said “Through this annual feature, YFLO tries to acknowledge the hard work women have put in to achieve excellence in their respective fields. These awards are for the changing face of Indian women to celebrate their achievements and recognize their work”.

This year, Zoya joined hands with YFLO in this endeavour. Speaking on this occasion, Ms. Neha Mehta-spokesperson, Zoya said, “YFLO is an important platform to reach the young entrepreneurial women and we are happy to be associated with them”.

FICCI Ladies Organization (FLO) was established in 1983 and now it is a prominent national organization with over 2000 members all over India. Young FLO (YFLO) was launched on April 28th, 2004 by Ms Durga Jasraj, with Ms Shallu Jindal as Chapter Chairperson, Delhi. It was created primarily with the aim of providing a platform to young and dynamic women entrepreneurs and professionals aged between 20 and 39 years.
