Social Activist Anna Hazare breaks his fast unto Death


 
New Delhi, 9th April 2011: Anna Hazare breaks his fast unto death by receiving a glass of lemon water from a small girl on the 5th  day. He does it after the assurance given by the government to enact the Jan Lokpal Bill in the coming monsoon session of the Parliament. 


The celebrations are in full swing as the supporters from all walks of life cheered the positive outcome. The environment at Jantar Mantar was echoed with fire crackers, rongoli, drum bits and Vande Mataram slogans.

Social activist Swami Agnivesh thanked the government and urged the public to carry forward the new beginning on the occasion. He also appealed the Maoists saying, “Put down the arms and follow the Gandhian principles to bring peace, equality and justice in the society”.

Veteran athlete Sunita Godara asked the sports personalities to join the campaign. 

To mark the occasion the supporters organized signature campaign, street plays and paintings related to corruption.

One of the Gandhian followers happily stated, “This is a victory of the people and 9th April could be celebrated as a National Day like 15th August or 26th January”. He also added, now we all have become one under the India against Corruption Campaign, irrespective of caste, color and religion through out India.

However, the demonstration will officially come to an end with a gathering by the supporters at the India Gate today from 5 pm onwards. The organizing committee asked the public to give a missed call to 022-61550789 to stay tune to the campaign.
